Disney’s Christmas Carousel: The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

If you are ever walking around Disney’s Epcot during the Christmas season or you just happen to have an hour of spare time, stop by The Beach and Yacht Club. Every year they make a massive chocolate carousel made of 50 pounds of chocolate, 100 pounds of icing and over 2000 pieces of gingerbread.  This is a masterpiece that would make any Disney fan or world renowned pastry chef proud.

 

 

On this life size carousel there are four horses with an extra one of to the side – Anis (the yellow one), Honey (the blue one), Star (the American one), Ginger (the green one), and Claus (who is off to the side).

 

Anis

 

 

This gold and red beauty is covered with poinsettias, cinnamon, and (surprise) star anise. Perfectly suited for Christmas with the green bow on her tail, red hooves, harness and trim on the saddle, and flower arrangements of poinsettias and holly. At the base of her, you’ll find a tiny statue of Chip and Dale fighting over an acorn.

 

 

Honey

 

This horse make you think of Winter; they’re both simple and beautiful. Adjourned with snowflakes, a tin soldier, and a brown braid on her tail. The only colors on her are light blue, dark blue, and white. At her base is a statue of Mickey dressed as Santa.

 

 

 

Star

 

 

Of all of the horses, this is my personal favorite. The horse itself is a plain yellow with no extra color and adornment.  The thing that makes this horse great is the American flag and broken chain that lay on top of it. There are couple of bunches of red poinsettias and holly that lay on the saddle. The bridle of the horse is gold with blue stars and golden tassels hanging down on to its tail. There is a similar tassel on one of the horses in Cinderella’s Golden Carousel.  That tassel shows that it was her favorite horse. At the base of this statue is a bright Minnie Mouse dressed in bright blue.

 

 

Ginger

 

This elegant horse is is green and ginger gold with snowflakes painted on the saddle and bridle, a beautiful braid on the edges, and a red bow on her tail. She has a red and silver poinsettia on the saddle and curled up braid on the corner of her bridle. She has a statue of elf Goofy at her base.

 

 

 

Claus

 

Aidan… Cindy… Daren… Stefan… This beautiful horse sits quietly on the side with a blanket full of toys and Santa’s nice list sitting on her saddle. The most exceptional thing on this horse is its blanket full of toys.

 

 

 

The white poinsettias, holly and presents gives you a close up look of Disney’s amazing ability at detail.

 

Five horses, icing, gumpaste flowers, gingerbread, and a lot of hard work make this life-sized sculpture impossible not to want to take a bite out of it.
