This Disney Cake features a Pirates of the Caribbean favorite, The Black Pearl. The craftsmanship of the ship and the sails is incredible. Both the bow and stern are made from Rice Krispies Treats. The main part of the ship was carved from 2 layers of cake. The ship was covered in fondant and wood grain placed onto the fondant. Laura wanted the figure to stand out, so it is not exactly like the one on the original Black Pearl. Black, white, and brown fondant were used to make the features of the cake. The masts were made using dowels covered in fondant. below are more pictures of the cake. Laura’s web site
