It’s Time For Tea With Hedwig The Owl

Hedwig Cake

My good friend, Jean Shacklebot (also known to muggles as Jean A. Schapowal) made two magical creations for the amazing Harry Potter Themed cake collaboration – Birthday Mischief Managed.  Birthday Mischief Managed is a worldwide collaboration of food artists to celebrate J.K. Rowling’s 50th Birthday. The collaboration went live on July 31st, the date of H.K. Rowling’s and Harry Potter’s birthday.

Jean’s first creation was Hedwig in Hogwarts’ Owlery.

Hedwig is one of my family’s favorite characters from Harry Potter.  One of my kids even had a Hedwig Build-A-Bear.

The detail on Hedwig is absolutely wonderful.  The beak, eyes, feathers and wings are gorgeous!  Notice that he is wearing a scarf with an orange ribbon.  The orange ribbon is in memory of J.K. Rowling’s mother.

I love the way that Jean built a complete setting for her Hedwig Cake.  There is straw that Hedwig is resting on, other owls in the Owlery, and even a window.

Notice that one of the owls is wearing a birthday hat?

 Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop

Jean’s second creation is Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop.  The Tea Shop is the location of Harry and Cho’s disastrous Valentine’s Day date.

Golden Cherub

On Valentine’s Day, Madam Puddifoot decorated her tea shop with golden cherubs who threw pink confetti.

Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang

Here are Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang. Cedric is blowing a party horn. Cho’s frame has a green balloon on it.  I love Jean’s attention to detail.  Cedric is wearing Hufflepuff’s colors, while Cho is wearing Ravenclaw’s colors.
