Marvelous Superhero 4th Birthday Cake

This wonderful Superhero Cake was made by CakeyCake.  This terrific cake features Iron Man, Groot, Thor, Captain America, and the Hulk.  I really like the colorful sugarpaste superhero cutouts with their background made from black and white comic book panels.  It gives this cake an amazing comic book look.

 

I like how the bottom layer of the cake looks like grey bricks with the Hulk breaking through them.  Notice the comic book covers on the sides of the wall.

 

The cake board looks like grey cobblestone so it matches the grey wall above it.  The red trim helps pull out the red in Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man.

 

Captain America’s Shield, Iron Man’s Mask, The Number 4, and comic book sound effects are also on the cake.

 

If you look at the top layer of the cake, you’ll see a little girl wearing a cape.  That is the birthday boy’s little sister.  I love little touches like that.

 

Here is a close-up of the Iron Man cake topper.  Iron Man was sculpted from a combination of modeling chocolate and sugarpaste.

 

 

I like this photograph because you can actually see the comic book covers on the wall.  The middle cover is from Avengers #4 which is the issue where the Avengers find Captain America frozen in ice and he joins the team.  The cover closest to the Hulk is Avengers 92 which is the beginning of the Kree/Skrull War, one of the most famous Avengers storylines.

 

Here is a close-up of these terrific Hulk, Thor, Groot, and Captain America cut-outs.

 

I like how Groot is just standing there, while the Hulk, Thor, and Captain America are coming at you.

 

Using black and white comic book panels as the background works so well.  If they were in color, the cake would be too busy.  I also like how the panels are of the characters featured on the cake.

 

The Thor and Captain America sugarpaste cut-outs are wonderful.

 

 

The sound effect balloons are a cute touch.
