Award Winning Jungle Book Cake

Richard’s Cakes made this stunning Jungle Book Cake for the Manchester Cake and Bake Show where it won 1st place.  The wonderful cake features Baloo, Mowgli, Bagheera, Kaa, King Louie, and Shere Khan.  The figures and detail are amazing.

 

Baloo and Mowgli are standing on top of a grassy hill.  Beside them is an ancient temple.  Baloo, with a giant smile on his face, is holding Mowgli by his hands and swinging him.  I really like how Mowgli has a huge smile on his face and is looking at Baloo.  Making a cake figure that is in the air like Mowgli is not easy, Emma did an amazing job with Mowgli and Baloo.

King Louie is singing, dancing, and monkeying around.  He is standing on a stone path at the foot of the hill and there is an overflowing urn of fruit in front of him.

 

Now I’m the king of the swingers
Oh, the jungle VIP
I’ve reached the top and had to stop
And that’s what’s botherin’ me
I wanna be a man, mancub
And stroll right into town
And be just like the other men
I’m tired of monkeyin’ around!

 

Kaa looks downright creepy with a smile on his face.  He is at the bottom of the hill and probably up to no good.

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around

 

Shere Khan is resting on a log and looks to be singing.
