Mother Nature Defends Earth From Devastation and Us

Earth Day Cake

This Terrific Earth Day Cake was made by Daniela Cabrera Godinex  located in Guanajuato, Mexico.

This Cake is part of the United Nations of Sugar Art (UNSA) Earth Day Collaboration: Acts of Green.  This event focuses on the beauty of our planet, its animals, and its people.  It will touch on the damage that is being done to our environment and how that damage is affecting humans and animals alike.

Here’s Adela’s bio:

My name is Daniela Cabrera Godinez. The youngest of seven siblings, I was born in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I come from a family of merchants. My dad, passionate about his business, tireless, responsible and charismatic worker, taught me by example to appreciate and value the people, regardless of class or social status. From him I learned to respect, help, share, and always give the best of me. My mother, a great cook and baker, dedicated to her family, always surprised us with new and delicious flavors. Since childhood I was allowed to explore the world of the arts, I spent hours drawing, painting and modeling clay figurines, mud and any other material that came into my hands. My desire to learn prompted me to continue creating, even without academic studies or career, my thirst for knowledge was becoming greater. I am very visual, I see something I like and do not rest until reproducing what I see. I consider myself an example of the saying “love is power.” And I really think our best tool, are our hands.
For 16 years I was assistant to my sister who is a chef by profession. I was specializing in cake decorating and later in modeling figures in fondant.
In 2007 my husband and I started our family business called Danny’s Cake Factory. It is named in honor of our only daughter, Daniela.
At the end of 2012 I dabbled in the world of teaching. I decided to share what I’ve learned from professional manner and face, feeling the contact with real people, in real space.
Danny’s Cake Factory has taught workshops in pastry, cake decorating and modeling figures in fondant, creating a unique technique, fusion of different arts in almost all Mexico, Costa Rica and Spain. Soon we will be offering courses in other countries.
I participated as a speaker and lecturer representing Mexico on Expos, fairs and gastronomic scale international congresses. It is a great honor to represent proudly Mexican talent.
Currently two Mexican companies, Ma Baker and Chef and Cherry and Cake are official sponsors of my courses.

Here’s a description of the cake:

A blue fairy sits at the north pole at the top of the cake. She is looking down, watching ice caps melt slowly. On the left side of the cake, Mr. Pollution is invading and destroying. In the center, Mother Nature is begging mankind to STOP the destruction. She floats between the viewers and Earth, defending the Earth from us. At the bottom left, a frightened Panda Bear represents all endangered animals. On the bottom right, an old tree trunk represents forest devastation. The baker wanted this Earth Day cake to represent anguish, sadness and devastation.
