This absolutely marvelous USS Enterprise Cake was made by Alana Jones-Mann. The Starship Enterprise is extremely difficult to recreate in cake because it is three separate parts – the main body, the saucer section, and the two warp nacelles. These three sections are connected by small support pieces. To recreate this in cake requires an extremely elaborate support structure. Alana does a marvelous job recreating my favorite space ship.
I’m a big fan of Star Wars and Doctor Who. I love the Millennium Falcon and the TARDIS, but as I’ve said in the past I discovered Star Trek years before either of those. Because of this, the original Starship Enterprise is my favorite space ship. Because of that, this cake brings a big smile to my face. I can just see it flying above an orange planet like it does in the opening credits.
