This Superb Star Wars Cake features a Snow Speeder. This cake was made by Sue Harkin of Sue’s Sugar Creations.
This cake was part of Star Wars: The Bakers Strike Back cake collaboration where a long time ago in a kitchen far far away…… 40 rebel bakers joined forces to bring together sugar art like no other and celebrate the release of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
This Superb Snowspeeder Cake is gray with red trim and black windows.
The snowspeeder was a T-47 airspeeder that was modified by the Rebel Alliance to function in the cold temperatures of Hoth.
I like the scene in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back where Luke is flying a snow speeder trying to defend the rebel Echo base against several AT-AT’s to allow time for the rebel transport ships to escape. The armor of the AT-AT is too strong for laser blasts to penetrate so Luke and Wedge come up with the idea of using the tow cables to wrap the legs of the AT-AT and force it to fall to the ground and be destroyed.
