Here is Natasja’s description of her Terrific cake:

When I said YES to this collaboration, I actually never heard of Downton Abbey, but I do love anything vintage and old times, I love anything 1920s. I started to google Downton Abbey and got sucked into this beautiful world, and when searching for inspiration, my eye got drawn to Lady Mary.  I chose to do a scene from the first episode of the first season. She sits at her vanity table, staring at herself, feeling not as sad as she should be, considering her betrothed has just perished aboard the Titanic. The mirror had quite a few challenges, so I eventually chose to photograph her, print and stick it on a gumpaste mirror. Most details are made with CakeDutchess modeling paste, some isomalt and lace, and a tiny part is modeling chocolate. Yes I like to mix and match to whatever properties I need. I am not tied to one specific type or brand, but I do like to experiment and yes I do have favorites, like homemade modeling chocolate and modeling paste.  The project had some surprising challenges for me. While I am used to doing animals and humans, the other techniques were new to me, but I had so much fun making it!  And as a bonus, I got to know an amazing show!
