Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, and the Enterprise

This Fabulous Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, and the Enterprise Cake was made by Elisabete Caseiro from Bety Sugarland Cake Design by Elisabete Caseiro.

This Fabulous Star Trek Cake is part of Star Trek Cake Celebration. A group of 35 cake designers and sugar artists from all over the world joined together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek.  These cakes are associated with the Cake: The Final Frontier – A Celebration of 50 Years of Star Trek Collaboration.   

 

Here’s Elisabete’s bio:

I’m Elisabete Caseiro from Portugal. I graduated in Chemical Engineer and used to be a Chemistry and Physics teacher. Some years ago, I fell in love with cake decoration and now I’m a full time cake decorator who loves to do modeling, sculpted and gravity defying cakes and also love to paint, although I don’t do it much. I also teach these skills. I love challenges and I entered several shows and competitions both national and international, having won some important prizes, from which 5 gold awards at Cake International, England. Actually, I have my own cake studio, “Bety’Sugarland – Cake Design by Elisabete Caseiro”, in Lisbon, and I’m also an instructor at Academia Profissional de Cake Design. I have been invited for several TV shows. I also have been published in several Portuguese and international Cake Art Magazines and I’m co-author of the book “O Admirável Mundo do Cake Design”.

I wanted to represent several elements of the Star Trek crew and also practice my painting skills. It was the first time I painted using cocoa butter and I found it quite tricky but, even though, I’m quite happy with the final result. 🙂
