This Terrific Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson Cake was made for the Music Around The World – Cake Notes Collaboration which is a cake collaboration that gathered forty-one cake and sugar artists from all over the world to celebrate the International Day of Music in the sweetest way. The collaboration covers cultural aspects of music made around the world, representing music genres and instruments from all over the world.

Here is Sandra’s bio:

After retirement two and a half years ago, I started designing and decorating cakes as a hobby. I studied fine arts in college and worked for many years as a commercial artist. I’ve always loved to draw and paint but find that sugar has become my medium of choice. There is something very satisfying and fulfilling about creating a beautiful cake, especially when it brings joy to another person. And, of course, there is the yummy bonus of getting to eat it! I am thrilled to have been asked to participate in this exciting collaboration, rubbing shoulders with some of the finest cake artists in the world! Music is such a universal language and such a wonderful theme. I anticipate a fantastic collection of incredible cake artistry! Sweet sugar hugs to all!

Country Music is the theme I’ve chosen to represent because I grew up and have lived in the heart of Country Music all of my life, right outside Nashville, Tennessee – Music City, U.S.A. My father and uncles were self-taught musicians who could play anything with strings and a few other instruments, as well. The highlight of every family get together was our own Blue Grass concert. Their music was incredible, their voices not so much – lol. “Country Music” is represented by models of Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson (made of modeling chocolate), two icons of the Country Music industry and wonderful people, wood effect on bottom tier, hand painting on the top two tiers and blackberries made of gum paste.
