This Awesome Steampunk Wedding Cake was made by Sebastien Laroche and Jonathan Ventura of Cake Revol located in Nantes, France.
This Marvelous cake was created for the Steam Cakes – Steampunk Collaboration. To celebrate the Steampunk International Day, Cake Artists from around the world gathered to create their own edible Steampunk masterpieces.
Here’s Sebastien and Jonathan’s description of this Wonderful Cake:
STEAMPUNK WEDDING This is the very first time we make a cake themed Steampunk. A theme that we wanted to make for a long time. We composed the cake with square tiers because we wanted perspectives with angles. The lower floor brings together different photos of London in the 1900s surrounded by a metallic structure, representative of the architectures of that time. We installed a time machine, adjusted on the finalization date of our piece that correspond to a wedding date because this steampunk cake was for customers. On the sides there’s a portrait of a mechanized cat, one of the representations of Steampunk current, which embellishes the box to travel in time. Above this, we installed a striped drape where small belts intersect. Metallic gold and silver lace adds to the refinement of the Steampunk theme. On the front, a heart composed of multiple layers, gears and screws, decorates the tier. Bronze arches encircle drawings of machines and maps of the sky. The mechanical elephant, present on one of them, is a real creation of our city, Nantes, where Jules Verne, Father of Science-Fiction, was born in 1828. Finally, we invented a metal air balloon, ready to fly in the sky.
