Terrific 21st Century Steampunk Cake

This Terrific 21st Century Steampunk Cake was made by Floren Bastante of Dulces el Inflon located in Cuidad Real, Spain.

This Marvelous cake was created for the Steam Cakes – Steampunk Collaboration. To celebrate the Steampunk International Day, Cake Artists from around the world gathered to create their own edible Steampunk masterpieces. 

The cake is multi-tiered. The bottom tier is a square with a blue ocean water background and bronze trim around the edges of the box. There are brass instruments on the blue background.  A girl dressed in brown leather boots, googles, brown leather gloves, and a black derby hat is sitting on top of the bottom box  cake layer.

The top cake layer has an imprint of gears. A clockface is between and to the left of the two layers. On the top of the cake is a round wooden barrel with copper metal trim.  A little girl is riding inside the barrel. She is wearing leather goggles.

Here’s Floren’s description of this Wonderful Cake:

“Steampunk 21st Century” This cake has been created for this wonderful collaboration. I have used techniques like modeling, hand painting and airbrush and details in isomalt like crystal of the ball. It is a theme that I enjoy working with. Thanks greatly to Carla for letting me be part of this steampunk dream. “Steampunk Siglo XXI” Esta tarta ha sido creada para esta maravillosa colaboración en la he utilizado técnicas como modelado, pintura a mano y aerografo y detalles en isomalt como el cristal de la bola.
