The cake above is a Comics style cake. Eleni describes it as a contemporary portrayal of an over filled mind – “mindfoolness” as opposed to the healthier option of Mindfulness (letting all the circling thoughts dissolve and being aware of the present moment)
This Superb cake was made by Paul Williams of Happy Occasions Cakes.
The back of the cake has the words, You smile,, but you wanna cry. You talk, but you wanna be quiet. You pretend like you’re happy, but you aren’t.
Paul’s description of this cake: My word is SMILE – Project means a lot to me as people don’t appreciate what mental health is and the fact that a lot of people suffer in silence and are afraid to come forward because of the stigma associated with it.
This Splendid cake was made by Cathy Hill of Celebration Cakes by Cathy Hill.
Here is what Cathy says about this wonderful cake: My piece is called The calm before the storm. It represents the polar opposites of how you can feel in a single day. The top half is the calm but there are always ripples in the background. The bottom half represents anxiety, confusion, despair and sadness.
This Marvelous cake was made by Angela Penta of Angela Penta Cakes. The theme is depression.
This cake is about psychosis.
These Marvelous cakes were made by Jennifer Kennedy O’Friel of Sweet JennieD. This cake represents anxiety.
This Superb cake was made by Vincent Goh of Van Goh Cakes.
Here’s Vincent’s description of this cake: What strikes me the most is the fact that depression is a high risk factor for suicide, and one in eight men will experience depression. Whilst we are seeing more men seeking professional help, this project allows me to bring more awareness for depression in men, and to urge anyone to speak to someone professional about it.
