These Terrific Mardi Gras Cakes are part of the Carnival Cakers 2018 Mardi Gras New Orleans Collaboration to celebrate Mardi Gras through sugar art. Their theme is – Let the good times role! – Laissez les bons temps rouler! Heba Elalfy of Sweet Dreams by Heba and Jennifer O’Friel of Sweet Jennie D hosted this wonderful collaboration.
The Wonderful Mardi Gras Alligator cake above was made by Ana Remigio of Cupcakes and Dreams. This alligator is wearing a green, purple, and gold jester’s hat and red lipstick. She is holding a golden fleur-de-lis staff in one hand and a New Orleans light post in the other hand.
This Marvelous Mardi Gras Mask cookie was made by Delorse Sword of Sword’s Sugars. This mask is green, purple, and yellow. Matching beads are in front of the mask.
This Fabulous Mardi Gras Green Peacock Mask cake was made by Joanne Wieneke of The Little Cake Patch. The bottom tier is yellow with green and gold peacock feathers painted on the cake. The next tier is green and has a gold leafed arrangement. The top of the cake is a girl with blonde hair wearing a green and gold peacock mask.
This Marvelous Mardi Gras multi-tier cake was made by Heba Elalfy of Sweet Dreams by Heba.
The bottom tier has an antique gold finish over black. The middle tier is green with a blue ribbon and matching beads. The top tier is a silvery green. A hand-crafted delicate royal icing Mardi Gras mask is on top of the cake.
This Superb Mardi Gras Sugar Art was made by Vanessa Greeley of Vanessa’s Cake Designs. This sugar sculpture is a girl wearing a gold, green, and purple Mardi Gras costume.
This Wonderful Mardi Gras Alligator cake was made by Jean Schapowal of Cakes with Character. This alligator is having a great time. It is holding a martini in one hand and is wearing sunglasses. Purple beads are in the mouth. Green and yellow beads are in front of the alligator.
This Superb Gold and Black Mardi Gras Cake was made by Anastasia Kaliazin of Anastasia’s Cakes. This two-tier cake is black with gold jeweled trim and has gold masks covered in jewels on top of the cake.
This Splendid two-tier green and purple Mardi Gras Cake was made by Jennifer O’Friel of Sweet Jennie D. This superb cake has pleats and gold fleur-de-lis. It reminds me of a fancy costume design.
This Superb Jester Mardi Gras cake was made by Lesley Marshall of Hip-Pop Cakes. The cake is bordered by green and yellow trimmed jester collars with faces wearing masks and yellow and purple jester’s hats. A girl is standing on top of the heads below.
This Terrific Mardi Gras cake was made by Zeinab Elshrkawy of Rody Cupcake. This wonderful cake is a replica of the 2009 Zulu Parade Float.
This Marvelous Mardi Gras Purple Mask cake was made by Vasilije Vasiljevic of Nasa Mala Zavrzlama. The cake, the girl’s hair and the feathers of the mask are purple. The girl is also wearing a green mask around her eyes.
