Monster At The End Of The Book Pie

Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin, from Pies Are Awesome, made this amazing Monster At The End Of The Book Pie.  Jessica makes absolutely amazing pop culture pies.

If you’re not familiar with it, The Monster At The End Of The Books, is a classic picture book staring Grover from Sesame Street. When our kids were little, I read this book to them hundreds of times and it always brought a big smile to my face. The story is simple (don’t worry, I won’t spoil the ending). On the first page, Grover warns that there is a monster at the end of the book and that the reader shouldn’t go any further. The rest of the book is Grover trying to persuade and prevent the reader from getting to the end of the book.

Jessica’s pie is from one of the storybook pages. By turning the page, you’ve just made a big hole in the brick wall Grover made. Grover is standing, holding ropes and yelling in despair “You Turned Another Page!”. Like the book, this pie makes me grin from ear to ear.

Jessica’s staging of this photograph is amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever posted an item on this blog where the background was hammers and nails, but it is perfect since Grove keeps building things to prevent the reader from getting to the end of the book.

Over on her Instagram Account, brilliantly named The Pieous, Jessica shared a bunch of in progress photos of her making this marvelous pie.
