Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts Cookies

My daughter and I made these Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts professors cookies for my daughters Chemistry PHD defense celebration.

She is a big Harry Potter fan. As a play on words she wanted these Defense Against the Dark Arts professors cookies to celebrate she passing her PHD defense and getting her Doctorate degree in Physical Chemistry.

The cookies are in the order that that the professors served at Hogwarts.  Starting at the top left, there is a Quirinus Quirrell cookie, a Gilderoy Lockhart cookie, a Remus Lupin cookie, an Alastor ‘Mad-eye’ Moody cookie, a Dolores Umbridge cookie, a Severus Snape cookie, and an Amycus Carrow cookie.

First, I found images on the web of the Hogwarts professors that we liked. The Amycus Carrow picture was based on a picture of him in the Harry Potter lexicon.  I do not know who did the original drawings for the other professors.

Second, I made gingerbread cookies and then covered them with white royal icing. Next we drew and painted the images of  these Harry Potter characters onto them.

Next, we cut out a Hogwarts Crest stencil and used it to make the crests using gold royal icing.

In addition, these cookies include a Quirinus Quirrell cookie, a Dolores Umbridge cookie, and an Amycus Carrow cookie. These characters were also Death Eaters.

 Furthermore, starting at the top left, there is a Remus Lupin cookie, an Alastor ‘Mad-eye’ Moody cookie, and a Severus Snape cookie that represent people who were Order of the Phoenix members.
