This Yondu Mary Poppins Cake is sculpted cake covered in fondant that is Yondu dressed as Mary Poppins.
This wonderful cake was made by Little Cherry Cake Company.
Toward the end of the 2nd Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Peter Quill and Yondu are descending onto a planet. The scene starts with Peter Quill saying to Yondu, ‘You look like Mary Poppins” and when asked, Peter responds that Mary Poppins is cool. At that point Youdu triumphantly proclaims, “I’m Mary Poppins, y’all!” This cake is a tribute to that famous line by Michael Rooker’s Yondu.
Yondu is wearing a brown dress and holding up Mary Poppins umbrella. The umbrella has the green parrot head handle. The surface below him is dark green and purple to give it an outer space, alien world look.
