Stitch Hatbox Ghost Pumpkin

This marvelous Stitch Hatbox Ghost Pumpkin was carved by Joey Edwards.

Joey based his pumpkin’s design on this awesome painting by Darren Wilson. Darren has a lot of wonderful Disney paintings on his Instragram.

Joey is a sensational pumpkin carver. If I was doing this, I’d build a stencil of Stitch dressed as the Hatbox Ghost and the print it on my Cricket.  I’d then use the stencil to cut out Stitch. Joey does the exact opposite. Joey uses negative space to make Stitch. Joey only carves where he wants details on Stitch to stand out. Everywhere else, Stitch is just the pumpkin.

Joey also makes one adorable change from Darren’s painting. Darren has Lilo’s doll Scrump in the hatbox. Since this is a Jack O’Lantern, Joey has a Jack O’Latern in the hatbox instead.

Both Darren and Joey deserve a round of applause for their creativity.
