Happy New Year!
Since today is the first day of 2025, I thought this was the perfect time to count down the 10 most viewed cakes in 2024.
A few interesting facts about the top 10 Cakes of 2024:
- No character appears more than once.
- Star Wars didn’t make the top 10, nor did PAW Patrol. For years, these were two of the most popular fandoms on this blog.
- Half of the cakes feature Disney characters. Frozen made the list, but surprisingly Encanto didn’t. Likewise, Minnie Mouse made the list, but Mickey didn’t. I don’t know about merchandise, but in the cake world, Minnie seems more popular.
- Two different video games make the top 10.
- Only one super hero made the list and it wasn’t Batman.

Speedy Gonzales raced to 10th place. KarinnArts made this gorgeous cake for her son’s half birthday. The cake shows Speedy standing next to a cactus that he has just decorated for the birthday party.
#9 is this adorable Minnie Mouse 2nd Birthday Cake made by Teddy Baker. Minnie is dressed in pink and looking at you shyly.
#8 is this cool Elsa 4th Birthday Cake made by Anna Tortolep. Anna’s figure of Elsa is absolutely amazing.
#7 is this cute Winnie the Pooh 1st Birthday Cake was made by Best Patisserie. It is a three tier cake with Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet.
Coming in at #6 is this cute Baby Mulan & Baby Mushu Cake made by Consuelo/Pasteleria Endulzarte. The figures of Baby Mulan and Mushu are too cute!
We are half way through the countdown of the top 10 cakes of 2024.
Coming in at #5 is this terrific Monster Books Of Monsters Cake created by Little Cherry Cake Company. The Monster Book of Monsters is a vicious sentient textbook that’s used in the class Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts.
Down to the final four. This Sleeping Beauty Blue Birthday Cake was made by Fragga Pasteleria. When you click on the link, you’ll notice something is missing – Sleeping Beauty! That’s because this cake recreates the birthday cake made by Flora, Fauna and Merryweather for Princess Aurora.
I hope you aren’t afraid of Ghosts, because coming in at #3 is the spooktacular Luigi’s Mansion Cake made by Elys Reposteria. The focal point of this cake is a wonderful image of Luigi terrified by ghosts.
I was surprised when I discovered the cake that came in 2nd place, because it is a cake I made. I created this LEGO Fortnite Cake for Icing Smiles. Icing Smiles is a charity that provides free cakes to families with medically fragile children.
