Gadget Hackwrench Cake
This wonderful Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers Cake spotlighting Gadget was created by Vualya Sweetshop.
This is an pretty orange and white cake decorated with three terrific Gadget Cookies. Аля did an amazing job with Gadget’s body language and facial expressions. On the front most cookie, Gadget looks shy or coy. She has her head turned slightly to one side, she has a big smile and she is holding her hands together. On another cookie, she does not look amused (I wonder what Dale did this time?). Gadget’s arms are crossed, her eyes are point towards each other and her lips are drawn together. On the third cookie, she is being playful and silly. She is sticking out her tongue and has her hands on the side of her face. These fun cookies bring a big smile to my face.
When I was little, Chip and Dale didn’t appear on TV very often. Occasionally, Disney would broadcast Pluto’s Christmas Tree during the Christmas season, but that was about it. I knew who Chip and Dale were, but I saw so few cartoons with them that I wasn’t a big fan. That changed, when Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers premiered. My husband and I began recording it on our VCR and watching it in the evenings after work. I’ve been a fan of Chip and Dale ever since.
One of the reasons that Rescue Rangers was so much fun was that it introduced Gadget Hackwrench. Gadget was a slightly absent minded inventor. She was also the inventor, mechanic and pilot of the Ranger Plane. Chip and Dale both had crushes on her, but she was either unaware or didn’t care. She was such a fun character.
Here is a cool piece of trivia that I just learned today. Did you know that both Chip and Gadget were voiced by the same person? Tress MacNeille voiced both characters. These days, Tress is the voice of Daisy Duck and Wilma Flintstone.
