If you can’t tell, I love all things Disney and I love the Haunted Mansion at Halloween time. It is my husband’s favorite ride at Walt Disney World any time of the year.
This is our first newsletter and its Halloween so I wanted to share some of my favorite pumpkin carvings. And of course, why not start with the Haunted Mansion.
Some of my favorites are ones that light up and also project an image onto the wall behind the pumpkin. The Haunted Mansion is projected onto the wall behind the pumpkin that features the Hitchhiking Ghosts. This Halloween, all three have been dying to meet you and followed you home.
This fantastic Haunted Mansion pumpkin carving was made by the amazing Dan Szczepanski.
A close-up of the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
Here’s another of these wonderful pumpkins that projects a background. This Awesome Snow Queen / Snow Witch pumpkin carving that was made by Dan Szczepanski . The Snow Queen and the Snow Witch share the spotlight here. I love the poison apple in front of the pumpkin.
The magic mirror is projected on the wall behind the Snow Queen.
My favorite Halloween couple is Jack Skellington and Sally and what better way to introduce pumpkins that are both carved and painted. The 3D effects from carving are highlighted wonderfully with the colors of the paint.
This Nightmare Before Christmas Pumpkin Carving was made by Bridget McCarthy. This is a great combination of pumpkin carving and pumpkin painting.
This Sally Pumpkin Carving was made by Bridget McCarthy. Sally is holding a single rose in her hands.
Let’s not forget about Stitch, who can make all kinds of mischief on Halloween.
This Stitch Pumpkin Carving was made by Bridget McCarthy.
And we can’t stay away form the Haunted Mansion. This Hatbox Ghost Pumpkin was made by Bridget McCarthy.
This Queen of Hearts Pumpkin was made by Bridget McCarthy. I like the way the cards surrounding stick out from the pumpkin and look like cards all around the Queen of Hearts.
I’m a big Star Wars fan so I couldn’t resist mentioning this wonderful Yoda Pumpkin which was made by Bridget McCarthy. Yoda has dimension from the carving and his detail is highlighted by the colors.
This Star Wars BB-8 pumpkin introduces the carved pumpkins.
This Marvelous BB-8 Pumpkin was made by Joshmosh. It uses two pumpkins on top of one another for the two pieces of the droid.
This Ewok Pumpkin Carving was made by Maniac Pumpkin Carvers. It has a lot of detail and is much like a sculpture.
This Boba Fett Pumpkin Carving was made by Scott Cummins.
Here’s Fett’s helmet lit up.
My son dressed up as both Boba Fett and Jango Fett on different years.
This Predator Pumpkin Carving was made by Villafane Studios. All of the separate strands must have been really difficult to carve and place on the head.
This next group of pumpkins are intricate carvings that are well accented by light.
This wonderful Headless Horseman Pumpkin Carving was made by Dan Szczepanski. I just love all of his pumpkins. They are incredible works of art. Just look at the detail in the Headless Horseman.
This Ursula Pumpkin Carving was made by Dan Szczepanski. Ursula is searching for some poor unfortunate souls.
This Batman Pumpkin Carving was made by Dan Sz Art and Pumpkins. Batman stalks the night to keep Gotham safe.
This Supergirl Pumpkin Carving was made by Alex Wer the Pumpkin Geek. I enjoy watching the Supergirl television show on CW.
This Star Trek USS Enterprise vs the Millennium Falcon Pumpkin Carving was made by Alex Wer, the Pumpkin Geek.
I love Star Wars and Star Trek and this pumpkin combines both. I wonder who would win this battle?
This amazingly detailed Stormtrooper Pumpkin carving was made by the talented Alex Wer (aka the Pumpkin Geek).
This R2-D2 Pumpkin Carving was made by made by Noel. Pieces of another pumpkin were used to make the droid arms and the sensor discs. I wonder if the Stormtrooper above reminds R2 of all the Stormtroopers on the Death Star?
And now for a couple of miscellaneous pumpkins. This Tom and Jerry Pumpkin Carving was created by Mark Ratliff
Tom and Jerry are smiling at each other. I like the way they are a different color from the pumpkin.
Halloween on Sesame Street with Oscar and his trash can with a Jock-o-Lantern nearby.
This Oscar the Grouch Pumpkin Carving was made by Norbini. Its interesting to see what the pumpkin looks like not lit up. You can see all of the carved parts and get an idea of how it was done.
This Wizard of Oz Pumpkin Carving was made by The Carving Gallery. This looks like a painting on a pumpkin. I love the expression onI like the smaller pumpkin in front that has the words, The Wizard of Oz.
I hope you have enjoyed these pumpkins. As I looked at all of the pumpkins that I have published on Between the Pages, it was really hard to select just a few. You can see more wonderful pumpkins on Between The Pages Pumpkin Carvings.
